There's plenty of mileage left in understanding people so I'd disagree that MR is dead or dying. However, big agencies' dependence on static, one-stop-shop business models while their clients evolve is astonishing. Economies of scale are quite the opposite (big is always expensive in MR), and how can "Data Investment Management" be believed when the current research management experience is more poacher than gamekeeper?

Current market research looks at what has happened and then people use that to try and make decisions on the future. WRONG - find out what consumers really want, build a variety of decisions based on this and then test each of them for sales pull with your target consumer market. Only way to go. Simple and makes for the right decisions to be made on the brand, company etc. I have been doing it for the last 20 years - works very time
