Big agencies were so involved with the commercial and product strategies that they were like a high end consulting firm. They walked away from that and let McKinsey st al in. Now they are being marginalized by technology, they are trying to get back into that strategic relationship only to find the vacuum they left 50 odd years ago has been fillet by companies better suited to actually having their clients needs at the front of their minds.schadenfreude sits well next to hubris.
